Texas Methodist Foundation launches A Place at the Table eJournal
The Texas Methodist Foundation introduced a quarterly digital eJournal – A Place at the Table – in March 2011. The eJournal stated purpose is “to nurture a critical and reflective understanding of challenges facing the United Methodist Church by engaging dialogue amongst those seeking a faithful part in God’s hope for the future. In the new eJournal’s first feature, “Who Are We Painting the Sanctuary For?,” TMF Senior Consultant Gil Rendle invites anyone interested in conversation as a means for powerful change to join in and comment on insightful stories and issues shared in the online journal. “It is conversation born of thoughtful talking, careful listening, and some space in between the talking and listening for deep discernment and thinking,” Rendle shared. Other articles included in this first edition were The Table by Patti Simmons and Snapshots from the Wilderness by Rev. Ellen Alston. Visit the eJournal’s home page at www.tmfaplaceatthetable.org.
