Carol NelsonCarol Nelson’s 16-year career with the Texas Methodist Foundation has been dedicated to assisting United Methodist churches and agencies as they expand and grow Christian ministries. Her primary focus in her current position is communicating with churches to determine loan needs and set safe debt guidelines. She also works with churches to resolve financial challenges they face. Additionally, Carol oversees staff responsible for producing loan documents, loan closing, paying and monitoring draws, and tracking insurance.

“It’s exciting to see a church I’ve been working with come full circle and pay off a loan to purchase land or construct a building. Knowing I can contribute to make that happen is a very rewarding part of my work,” Nelson remarked.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Nelson worked in the banking industry, specifically in lending. As Construction Loan Manager for the Foundation, her background in lending was instrumental in developing the construction loan draw program still in use today.
