Services for Churches - Stewardship
Electronic Giving
Through electonic giving, the task of remembering to support the work of The Church becomes effortless. It allows Christian stewards in your congregation to make giving a priority just as they are taught.
Benefits of electronic giving include:
- Never having to remember to write a check
- Assuring tithes and pledges continue, even when members are on vacation
- Privacy in making gifts and ease of checking records of giving
- Encouraging spontaneity when hearts are moved through the availability of Web giving
- Paperless transactions make recordkeeping effortless
- Cash flow for the congregation is more predictable
- Fewer staff persons required for processing and recordkeeping
The General Council on Finance and Administration of The United Methodist Church offers assistance with setting up an affordable system to have members’ contributions electronically transferred from checking or savings accounts and deposited into a church’s bank account on a steady, uninterrupted basis. If your church has not yet embraced electronic giving, The Texas Methodist Foundation’s Stewardship Services staff encourages you to visit the GCFA web site to learn more about this program:
